Mission / Vision

Vision Statement:

Inspired by the dedication to service of Monseñor Óscar Romero, Monseñor Óscar Romero Charter School (MORCS) is committed to developing students into active citizens who embody the ideals of a diverse and democratic society. MORCS will be a dynamic learning organization that engages its communities and transforms learning for students and families in the Pico Union/Koreatown areas of Los Angeles. Serving grades 6-8, MORCS aims to close the achievement gap by providing a personalized and supportive learning environment with clear, high expectations for all students, recognizing student accomplishments, fostering strong family-school-community partnerships and service, and integrating technology into the classroom.

Mission Statement:

The mission of Monseñor Óscar Romero Charter School is threefold: to prepare students for academic success in high school and post-secondary education; to prepare students to be responsible and active community participants; and to enable students to become lifelong learners. Through this mission, students will become active citizens who reflect the ideals of a diverse and democratic society. They will provide service to their community, take responsibility for their own learning, and develop the intellectual and physical habits that will empower them to succeed in high school and beyond.
