Mildred Martin was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She is a self Identified Chicana who discovered her passion for the arts and education at California State University Northridge, where she received her BA in Journalism. She is embarking on her third year as Program Coordinator for MORCS. Her favorite part of working at MORCS is that she gets to help the community she grew up in.
Ms. Garcia graduated from California State University Northridge in 2015 with a BA in Social Welfare and Social Justice. She was the stage manager for her high school drama club and absolutely loved being backstage, pulling all the levers, reading lines and basically making things happen. The main office works in the same way. This will be her 3rd year in the position of office assistant for the main office.
Ms. Aquino is a school social worker at Youth Policy Institute who is partnered with MORCS. She operates out of the School Climate Transformation Grant with the goal of improving the school culture and climate for our community. She has worked in the field of education since 2009 in multiple roles including tutor, primary language translator, coordinator for after school programs, and counselor. Ms. Aquino believes that education is the catalyst for positive change in our world. Ms. Aquino enjoys working at MORCS because of the wonderful and diverse team she gets to work with and the creative and brilliant students she gets to serve.
Ms. Jimenez has served as our parent coordinator for several years. She puts in a herculean effort to support our parents to make sure they have numerous opportunities to learn about the education system, their rights as parents, and how to best engage with the school to help their children be successful. Through partnerships with local universities, the California Charter School Association, Unidos US, and countless other organizations, Ms. Jimenez coordinates a comprehensive parent education and support program for the parents at MORCS. These efforts will help our parents work with the school effectively to help our kids to be prepared for college and career.
